Check out this Infographic on data related to addiction and relapse. Provided by Clarity Way, a drug and alcohol treatment center, the data highlights the key triggers and indicators for relapse. Of note is the continued prominence of alcohol in the equation, both for the likelihood of relapse and for the percentage of individuals who struggle with alcohol, either alone or in combination with other drugs or mental illness. According to the data, 41% of treatment admissions involve an individual with alcohol addiction.

For those who end up in the criminal justice system, relapse is generally directly correlated with recidivism. Can understanding the prevalence of alcohol and the triggers for relapse help corrections professionals better manage addicted offenders?
