Earlier this month The Century Council released a new publication, Promising Criminal Justice Programs for DWI Offenders, which is the first ever compendium of promising DWI offender programs to enable criminal justice practitioners to learn from each other.

This publication provides a brief description of 25 promising programs from 21 states and one federal agency. The programs are diverse in nature and range from DWI Courts to 24/7 Sobriety Programs to Victim Impact Panels. Combined, many of these programs represent the continuum of strategies to effectively combat drunk driving.

Is your community struggling to improve how they manage hardcore drunk drivers? If so, this document may provide strategies not already considered.

Has your community enacted a promising program to combat drunk driving? If so, I encourage you to share it with The Century Council .
