Global quality standard recognizes AMS for product quality, services, procedures
DENVER, CO—Littleton-based Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Inc. (AMS), the world’s largest provider of high-tech alcohol monitoring technologies, has been awarded ISO 9001: 2008 certification by TUVRheinland of North America, based on the standards established by theInternational Organizations of Standardization (ISO).
The certification, which involves an arduous, multi-phase certification audit, is based on the ISO global standard for quality management systems. The certification means that AMS has achieved the highest global standards for the design, development, and management of AMS the company, as well as its products and services. The standards are published by the Switzerland-based ISO.
AMS President and CEO Mike Iiams says the certification is important because it shows that doing business with AMS means you’re doing business with an organization that meets the world’s highest standards for efficiency and effectiveness, and that the company is well aligned with customer requirements. “Our technology serves an important function in our criminal justice system, and as the first to market with our technology, our market strategy has always been to ensure we are providing the highest level of product and customer service quality in the industry,” says Iiams. “The independent validation of ISO 9001 certification underscores our commitment to that quality, which should be required of any company providing technology services to governmental agencies,” he adds.
In order to retain ISO 9001:2008 certification, the standards met in the audit, including maintaining a process approach to business, keeping a customer focus and continuously improving offerings, must be maintained.
