Family Drug Court Grants
The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) has announced March 25th, 2013, as the deadline to apply for a FY 2013 Family Drug Court Program grant. The purpose of the grant program is to expand the capacity of family drug courts through the establishment of new courts or expansion of existing courts.
The focus of these family drug courts should be to assist non-violent offenders with substance abuse and/or mental health disorders who come to the court as the result of child abuse, neglect, or other parenting issues, while protecting the welfare of the children involved. Organizations and governments that provide services to youth who are younger than 18 years of age and their parents are eligible to apply. Applicants are encouraged to take into account the needs of veterans and military families.

BJA Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program Grants
The Bureau of Justice Assistance has made a competitive grant announcement for funding for the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program. These grants are aimed to help courts plan, create, or expand mental health courts; other court-based programs; pretrial services; the use of court-appointed mental health advocates and case managers; mandatory treatment as part of probation/parole; and diversion and alternative prosecution and sentencing programs. These applications are also due March 25th.
