The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP) has launced a new web page designed to help applicants learn about the grants process.
The new page, “Grants 101,” explains the life of a grant and provides links to the types of funding. the web page:
- Offers an overview on OJP funding opportunities
- Provides information on how to find grants
- Provides information on grant lifecycles
- Hits on what you need to know before getting started
- Explains the peer-review and grant award process
- Offers grant writing tips
According to the new page, over the past 10 years, OJP has provided 52,000 funding awards to the criminal justice community totaling more than $26 billion. In FY 2009, OJP also awarded an additional 3,883 Recovery Act grants totaling more than $2.74 billion to state and local and tribal law enforcement and community organizations
