The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and APPA have developed a new Impaired Driver Risk Assessment Tool that is currently being implemented in multiple probation agencies for a 12 month period. Project researchers will be presenting information on the implementation of the pilot as well as some preliminary findings
Supervising the Worst of the Worst DUI Offenders

San Diego County Probation’s Felony DUI Program was implemented in 2006, and since then their successful approach has received accolades from around the country, including the National Association of Counties (NACO) Achievement Award and recognition from MADD and the California Office of Traffic Safety Law Enforcement. San Diego County Probation officers will discuss their program, including how they turned evidence-based theory into everyday practice and how they have collaborated with local law enforcement for supervision and implementation.
